"It is impossible to escape from geography. Therefore, we must learn to coexist with the kind of Russia we know. I do not share the optimistic hopes of those who believe that after Vladimir Putin Russia will change, it will be some other Russia and it will be easier to deal with it. I think that we have a strategic problem of coexistence with Russia, and for ourselves within the country we must determine the approaches by which we will be guided in these relations," the minister said.
According to him, in international relations, in particular, during the Cold War, the basic principle was peaceful coexistence. This presupposes rules that both sides accept and then systematically maintain a balance.
"Relations with the Russian Federation have never been easy. I want one thing - that Russia in the coming years poses the least threat to the Ukrainian state, Ukrainian business and Ukrainian citizens," Kuleba stressed.
Earlier, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy also stated that Ukraine will have to start a discussion about a strategy of coexistence with Russia.
However, he noted that Ukrainian society is not ready for a calm conversation about this country.
