Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba demands new NATO-Ukraine cooperation in the Black Sea. The minister made the corresponding statement on Twitter after the Russian military opened warning fire on the course of the British HMS Defender near the coast of the annexed Crimea.
"A clear proof of the Ukrainian position: the aggressive and provocative policy of the Russian Federation in the Black and Azov Seas, the occupation and militarization of Crimea constitute a constant threat to Ukraine and its allies. That is why I emphasize that a qualitatively new interaction between NATO and Ukraine in the Black Sea is needed," Kuleba wrote.
As we reported earlier, Russian naval aircraft opened fire on a British ship in the Black Sea on June 23.
However, Ministry of Defense of the UK denies the fact of attack by the Russian military of its HMS Defender near the coast of annexed Crimea as the ministry reported on Twitter.
“No warning shots have been fired at HMS Defender. The Royal Navy ship is conducting innocent passage through Ukrainian territorial waters in accordance with international law…No shots were directed at HMS Defender and we do not recognise the claim that bombs were dropped in her path,” the message says.
