Oleh Ustenko, presidential advisor on economic issues, said that Ukraine needs $ 10 billion to restore the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He announced this on the air of Radio Liberty.
According to him, we are talking about 5-7% of Ukraine's GDP. Ustenko also believes that for the restoration of territories after their reintegration, it will be necessary to create a fund, including with donor money.
"The preliminary estimate is about $ 10 billion that will be required to restore the uncontrolled territory. We are talking about 5-7% of our GDP," Ustenko said.
Earlier in the Office of the President of Ukraine, chaired by the adviser to the head of state Oleg Ustenko, the expert group on solving the problems of Donbas discussed the issues of economic recovery of the region, calculating the damage from military operations and establishing the water supply system.
He believes concessions are one option. The Ukrainian side will be ready to make concessions only if the other side is ready to take the appropriate steps.
"We see that this should be done through negotiations - once, through discussions - two, through compromises - three. And through appropriate concessions," said Leonid Kravchuk.
He added that neither side can issue ultimatums.
On July 22, a regular meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group took place in the format of a videoconference, which resulted in the agreements on a complete ceasefire on the contact line.
