The Ukrainian and Moldovan border guards began to hold the joint control of the citizens, vehicles, goods and shipments at the ‘Palanka’ checkpoint as the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
The mentioned checkpoint is situated at the territory of Moldova. The new system was implemented due to the agreement achieved by the prime ministers of both countries in October. ‘Palanka’ is the sixth checkpoint where the Ukrainian and Moldovan border guards hold the joint control. Earlier it was modernized and extended.
Moreover, the border guards of both countries begin the joint patrolling of the central part of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. The part of the border is situated in unrecognized Transnistria and the Moldovan border guards are situated at the Ukrainian side due to this.
