The Ukrainian delegation might stop its participation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) after the return of authorities to the Russian delegation, as Interfax reported citing Maria Ionova, the Acting Chairman of Parliamentary Commission for Euro-integration.
“The delegation will gather and will decide. Basically, we do not see ourselves in one hall with the Russians. We will just stop the participation of Ukraine in the summer session…And, generally, I do not know, whether it will be possible to return there,” Ionova said.
The MP also reported that the Ukrainian delegation will protest during the procedure of return of the authorities to the members of the Russian delegation on June 25.
According to her, the Ukrainian delegation is going to leave the hall, when the Russian delegation will be present.
“Let the vote for the Secretary-General without Ukraine,” Ionova added.
She reminded that six out of eleven lawmakers from Russia face the world sanctions as they voted for the introduction of the troops to Ukraine.
Earlier the PACE adopted the resolution, which changes the sanctions regime and allows Russia to return to work in the organization without limitations to the right to vote.
