The order, which enforces the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) about new anti-Russian sanctions and possible economic restrictions for over 800 people and almost 350 entities, appeared at Ukraine’s president website.
According to ICTV, the enterprise tied with the Russian oligarch, which works for the Russian side strangely disappeared from the list.
“Who are those lucky ones lifted from the sanctions list? Number 50 is Iosif Kobzon. That is pretty clear. It gets more interesting. Number 721 is Moldovan Metallurgical Plant. It is almost the largest enterprise of pro-Russian Transnistria. The plant is controlled by Alisher Usmanov, the oligarch close to Putin. He thanks the Russian president for another award,” the message said.
According to the journalists, Kommersant publishing house, mail.ru, MegaPhon, and iron mines with metallurgical plants should be noted among the state of Usmanov. They supply metal, including to the defense complex of Russia, in other words, weapon. And Ukraine lifts sanctions from such plant while asking the world to strengthen them,” the message stated.
Moldovan Metallurgical Plant has a long-standing interest in Ukraine. It buys the deficit raw material, the scrap metal, here. It processes the scrap metal and then sells manufactured goods depriving the Ukrainian plants from work.
Earlier Australia imposed sanctions against seven citizens of Russian Federation in connection with Russia’s attack on Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait in November 2018.
