The U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker claimed that information on delivery of military equipment to Ukraine will become known soon. He claimed this during the briefing in Brussels, Evropeiska Pravda reports.
‘We have an opportunity to sell additional equipment. A corresponding announcement will be made,’ Volker noted.
He added that Congress will be informed about the first tranches of military aid in the coming months.
Earlier, the US Senate passed a defense budget bill for the 2019 fiscal year in the amount of 716 billion dollars. Prior to this, the Armed Forces Committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress presented the draft law "On the US budget for 2019 for the needs of national defense," which involves the allocation of 250 million dollars to Ukraine.
The document includes major fundamental provisions of the bill on "Cooperation with Ukraine in the cyber-security sphere," which in particular provides for strengthening defensibility against cyber-attacks, securing governmental computer networks, reducing dependencies on Russian informational and communicational technologies, aiding in participation in information exchange programs.
