Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland celebrated the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Petro Poroshenko, the head of the Ukrainian state congratulated his colleague Michael Higgins on this date; the original text was released at the website of the presidential press service.

‘On the behalf of the Ukrainian nation and me personally, accept my warmest congratulations on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Ireland. I’m pretty sure that trust and warmth will continue to prevail in the bilateral relations, for the sake of both of our nations. I invite you to officially visit Ukraine this year, so that we could mark this jubilee of bilateral relations together,’ reads the message.

Poroshenko also thanked the Irish leader for his country’s support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
