On December 26, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine endorsed the decision to impose sanctions against Russian physical and legal entities for holding unlawful elections on the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as the Russian aggression near the Kerch Strait, reports the press office of the council.
‘Based on the results of the discussion of the issue ‘On the implementation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)’, it was decided to endorse the imposition of sanctions, primarily against legal entities and individuals - Russian companies, businessmen, politicians and deputies, law enforcement officers who actively supported or contributed to aggressive actions against Ukraine,’ reads the message.
In addition, the NSDC issued sanctions against the organizers of so-called “elections” on the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as the military, judges and law enforcers involved in the illegal capture of the Ukrainian sailors during the aggressive act of Russia against Ukraine near the Kerch Strait on November 25, 2018 and their hold in Russian remand centers.
That said, the press office of the council didn’t publish the list of names against who it is decided to impose sanctions.

21 Ukrainian sailors have been delivered to Lefortovo remand center in Moscow, three others are in the hospital of Matrosskaya Tishina prison, also in the Russian capital.
