Ukraine filed an official request to Washington, asking to sell anti-aircraft defense systems - to cover the airspace and territorial waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Valeriy Chaly, the ambassador of Ukraine in the U.S. said that on the air of Radio NV.
The official added that Ukraine needs at least three such weapon systems; each is worth 750 million dollars, he said.
'In my opinion, our needs in the near time are to protect the naval space and the airspace; without it, we simply won't be able to provide due protection for the country,' Chaly admitted.
He added that Ukraine needs drones, counter-artillery radars and counter-sniper systems.
The ambassador also said that the respective request was announced on the highest level, during the meeting of presidents in Brussels, as well as meetings of the Ukrainian officials with John Bolton, the U.S. presidential counselor for national security.
