Volodymyr Yelchenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, believes that the UN peacekeepers can help reach a permanent and sustainable resolution of the Donbas conflict, according to the Twitter of Ukraine's Mission to the UN.
We firmly believe that a comprehensive settlement of the conflict can be achieved with deployment of @UNPeacekeeping mission @YelchenkoUN

As it was reported earlier, Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian Foreign Ministry to introduce the draft resolution to the UN Security Council, as he believes such a mission could help resolve the conflict. Ukraine phrased its opinion on the subject, saying that it objects to having peacekeepers from Russia participating in the UN mission.
Ukraine also insists that the peacekeeping mission must be deployed on all occupied territories, including the Russian border. Russia objects to this, saying that it contradicts the Minsk agreements, and insisting that the peacekeepers are needed solely to guard the SMM OSCE observers and be present on the contact line.
