Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite intends to visit Ukraine in December. This became known during the consultations between the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Konstantyn Yeliseyev and chief adviser to Lithuania's head of foreign policy Nerijus Aleksyunas and Foreign Minister Linas Linkyavichus held today in Vilnius. This was reported in the press service of the Administration of the Ukrainian Head of State.
The Lithuanian side confirmed Grybauskaite’s readiness to visit Ukraine.
The main subject of the consultations, as noted in the press-service, is to prepare for the next session of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania.
"Parties also stipulated the situation in the Donbas region and the next steps in the framework of the Minsk agreements in order to achieve progress in the settlement of the conflict. In addition, they also considered Ukraine's cooperation with the European Union. It was noted that Ukraine has fulfilled all the stipulated requirements for the introduction of the EU visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine and Lithuania is in favor of the early adoption of the relevant decision by the European Union. The parties also emphasized the need for speedy completion of the ratification process of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU ", reads the statement.
Note the last visit of the Lithuanian President of Ukraine took place in March 2015. Dalia Grybauskaitė has repeatedly and publicly supported the European integration of Ukraine.
