Ukraine introduced sanctions against the archaeologists who performed illegal excavations in the occupied Crimea. Vadym Chernysh, the Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced People posted this on a social network.

'Ukraine imposes sanctions not just against politicians or businessmen of the Russian Federation. There are archaeologists on this list, too, as they illegaly performed excavations in Crimea. "Name and shame" is another principle: we talk about those breaching the regime of the occupied territories and spreading the negative image among the organizations that cooperate with them', Chernysh wrote.

A group of experts of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences is now working on the occupied peninsula. Their activities coincided with the beginning of the construction works on the bridge over the Kerch Strait, and other major construction works on the peninsula.
