Ukraine imposes new fines for improper wearing of masks

From January 14, businesses will be fined for providing service to visitors without masks. The relevant law came into force today.

The point is that the mask should cover the face, not the chin, neck, or anything else.

Those who let visitors into public transport, shopping malls, and any other establishments with masks on their chins will be fined from 3,400 to 5,100 hryvnias (121-182 dollars).

At this point, Ukraine is dealing with a second nationwide lockdown, which is expected to end on January 24. The main difference from the previous one – the work of public transport was not suspended.

As we reported earlier, Head of U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci stated that the darkest days of the coronavirus pandemic were still ahead.

Speaking about the possible appearance of herd immunity against coronavirus, Fauci assumed that it could emerge the following summer.

"So I hope that we will have this necessary percent of people by autumn," he said, referring to the minimally required number of people for forming the herd immunity.
