Ukraine is eager to get the Action Plan for NATO membership in the next year. Andriy Taran, the Defense Minister of Ukraine said so as quoted by the Ministry's press office.
"Ukraine has been clearly depicting its ambitions to get the Action Plan (...) and it hopes for comprehensive political and military support in terms of making such a decision during the next Alliance summit in 2021", reads the message.
Taran turned to ambassadors and military attaches of NATO member countries, as well as representatives of the NATO Office in Ukraine, asking them to support such decision during the mentioned summit next year. According to him, it would be a practical move and demonstration of commitment to the decision of the 2008 Bucharest summit.
According to the Minister, today, Ukraine's path to full-fledged membership in NATO has been reaffirmed in the Constitution of Ukraine. And the quick obtaining of the Acton Plan for NATO membership is a goal in the recently passed Strategy of the National Security of Ukraine.
