Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that there were enough facilities to provide a cold chain for storage of the coronavirus vaccine. He announced this during an online briefing.

"Ukraine is ready. We also have refrigeration units that can store the vaccine at -70 degrees celsius," the minister commented.

According to Stepanov, currently, 10 potential vaccines are in the final stage of research. Pfizer, in collaboration with BioNTech, and Moderna have announced the successful completion of their researches.

As we reported earlier, Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko said that one dose of the coronavirus vaccine would cost Ukraine seven dollars

According to Lyashko, the COVAX mechanism will provide Ukraine with about eight million doses of the vaccine. At the same time, the Ministry of Health will be able to buy more doses at a special price.

It is also noted that the COVAX mechanism confirmed the information about allocating the coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine on a free basis for 20% of the country’s population.
