Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel discussed how to make Russia fulfill Minsk agreements and increase the effectiveness of the OSCE SMM.
"We had a very good conversation, which was primarily focused on what we can do together, what we can do within the framework of Normandy format in order to bring peace to the Donbas region and force Russia to fulfill Minsk agreements", Klimkin said.
"Now we are working on how to strengthen our Special monitoring mission of the OSCE, how to still achieve a real ceasefire state, and most importantly - effective control of the SMM not only over the contact line, but over the whole territory of Donbas, in particular over the uncontrolled area of the Russian-Ukrainian border. These are fundamental issues that we discussed today", the Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stressed.
German side confirmed it will continue to assist Ukraine to carry out necessary reforms.
"The federal government of Germany remains faithful to all its promises. I want to say straight away that we want to achieve, the territorial integrity of Ukraine and that we will help Ukraine in its struggle for economic development and social stability", German Foreign Minister said.
