Ukraine intends to begin the sectoral project in the sphere of the integrated border management along with the international partners. The project will cost about 60 million euro as Petro Tsyhykal, the Head of the State Border Guard Service reported.
“I had to fruitful meetings. I discussed the issue of the consolidation of the efforts in the sphere of the migration processes management with the Interior Minister of Turkey and the issues of the interaction in the sphere of border and migration management with the Director General of ICMPD. We will begin the joint sectoral project in the sphere of the integrated border management, which will cost about 60 million euro soon,” he noted.
According to Tsyhykal, the implementation of the project is planned for August 2019. The preparation processes are finished.
Moreover, Border Guard Service Head reminded that Ukrainian is geographically situated at the intersection of the migration flows from the East to Europe so the issues connected with the transporting of migrants, human trafficking, identification of detainees, their return are really relevant and the cooperation with the international partners provides the opportunity to monitor main world tendencies and issues, exchange experience in the migration sphere and hold the constructive dialogue.
“I had a possibility to deliver a position of the Ukrainian government in the sphere of the migration management to the distinguished assembly that the inter-department task group on the coordination of the integrated border management is created in Ukraine. The task group of the EU councils, who head and present border and customs department of Finland and Lithuania wills start to work in Ukraine soon,” he noted.
Tsyhykal also reported that in 2018, the Ukrainian border guards participated in 10 international operations with the law enforcement bodies of Moldova, Poland, Spain, Greece, Italy, Europol and FRONTEX within the fight against human trafficking. The channel of human trafficking from Ukraine to Spain was disposed and the activity of the criminal group of 22 members was stopped as well as the members of the international criminal group, which forged and sale passports of the EU countries were detained.
Earlier Border Guard Service reported that the number of entry bans for Israeli citizens in Ukraine has grown up lately.
Besides, krainian bishop Gedeon was detained at Boryspil airport and was not allowed into Ukraine after his visit to the U.S., as the Information Centre of Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
