The 19th Ukraine-EU Summit will end without the approval of the final communique or joint declaration. It will occur for the second time in the history of the relations between Ukraine and EU. It became known on the results of the unofficial meeting of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and the President of the European Council Donald Tusk that took place the day before summit as European Truth reported

‘According to the rules of the European diplomacy, the absence of the joint statement is the showing of the severe crisis in the relations like the leaders met but could not to agree on anything. For this reason, we success to agree on the final communique every time even in critical 2004 and 2011’, the message said.

According to the edition, Ukraine insisted on citing the preamble of the Association Agreement that ‘EU recognizes the European strivings of Ukraine and hails its European choice in the final communique’. But the representatives of the European Union refused.

‘The final negotiations with the European Union only worsen the situation. The Netherlands demanded to add to the text the new restrictions of the European dream of Ukraine’, the message reported.

The European politicians arrived in Ukraine for Ukraine-EU summit that takes place in Kyiv on July 12-13.  This is the first summit in the conditions of the complete accomplishment of the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and EU.

The previous summit Ukraine-EU took place in Brussels on November 24, 2016. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko reported at the summit that he intends to initiate the abolishment of the moratorium on the export of the unprocessed timber.

The summit in Brussels did not bring the prominent breaks in the relations between Kyiv and Europe. The most painful issues for Kyiv remained to be unsolved and the abolishment of the visa regime between Ukraine and EU, the finishing of the ratification of the Association Agreement and the prolongation of the sanctions against Russia were among these issues.
