Ukraine, Estonia sign statement on support of Ukraine’s membership in EU

Estonia intends to facilitate Ukraine in the achievement of criteria of membership

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas. Special attention was paid by the parties to the first-priority steps of Ukraine towards deepening relations with the European Union as the President’s Office.

Volodymyr Zelensky noted the strategic goal of Ukraine toward obtaining full membership in the EU and expressed gratitude to Estonia for traditionally active support in the implementation of this ambitious task.

According to the results of the meeting, the President of Ukraine and Prime Minister of Estonia signed Joined statement on priority directions of the bilateral cooperation. The document records the readiness of Estonia to support the upcoming membership of Ukraine to the EU and readiness to facilitate Ukraine in the achievement of criteria of membership.

“Ukraine is always in the heart of the Estonian people. And we always try our best to support Ukraine within all possible platforms - the European Union, NATO, the UN," PM said.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offered President of Romania Klaus Iohannis to sign the declaration on the support of Euro-integration of Ukraine.
