The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine stated that the country did not receive official information about the reconsideration of the visa-free regime from the EU representatives as Voice of America reported citing First Deputy Foreign Ministry Emine Dzhaparova.
“Ukraine has not received from the representatives of the European Union at the official level the information about the reconsideration of the visa-free policy toward Ukraine,” Dzhaparova stated.
The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that currently, there is ‘a clear understanding and homework assignment for Ukraine at the big Euro-integration track’. It is the set of reforms developed by the government daily, including the fight against corruption and activity of the independent anti-corruption bodies.
That is why Dzhaparova is sure that today there are no grounds for possible reconsideration visa-free regime.
Earlier, the European Parliament stated the risk of cancelation of a visa-free regime due to the problematic selection of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) as MEP and Deputy Head of the European Parliament's Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee Viola von Cramon stated.
