Belarusian embassy sent a note of protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine due to insufficient protection of the embassy, as several people were injured during a rally near the Building on July 7. The press service of the embassy announced this.
“Despite repeated appeals to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to strengthen security measures of the Belarusian diplomatic mission, there was an attack on the Belarusian diaspora committed by radical citizens of Ukraine. It happened during a sanctioned rally on July 7, 2021,” the message said.
Referring to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Belarusian embassy demands that the Ukrainian authorities protect their territory and personnel, and "take measures to stop all kinds of provocative and illegal anti-Belarusian activities on the territory of Ukraine."
According to the press service of the embassy, during the rally, a number of people, including the National Guard representatives, received injuries. Two participants of the attack - citizens of Ukraine - were detained. Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs has not yet commented on the situation.
As it was reported earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko recently instructed to close the border with Ukraine, explaining this decision by the fact that a large number of weapons enter Belarus from Ukraine. The Ukrainian side assures that the borders are working.
