National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has discussed and developed five scenarios of re-integration of the occupied areas of Donbas. This was the topic for discussion during the session, where the Council members prepared for the upcoming meeting of the Normandy Four leaders. The President's Office reported that on late December 3.

"The head of the Ukrainian state charged Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces Ruslan Khomchak to visit the territory of the Joint Forces Operation area - within the discussion of scenarios and looking into details", says the message on the Office's website.

So far, no further information is available on the specific scenarios of the reintegration of the said territories.

President Zelensky has clearly reiterated that the return of the occupied territories by force is unacceptable; instead, political and diplomatic means should be used to reach peace in eastern Ukraine.

According to Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Olexiy Danylov, Kyiv will be able to return the temporarily occupied territories and stop the military actions, with the aid of international partners.
