Deputy Minister of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs Yury Hrymchak stated that the building of the fence at the administration border of Crimea with Ukraine by the Russian Federation does not change the status of the peninsula in any way as 112 Ukraine reported.
According to him, the Russian Federation try to convince local people by such actions that all issues with Crimea are solved, the border is equipped there and no changes will take place.
“It is more for the internal consumption as it does not matter for Ukraine and does not change the status of the peninsula in any way,” Hrymchak said.
He noted that the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine will send the note of the protests due to this incident.
“I think that there will be the notes of our Foreign Ministry as we constantly send them. However, Russia refuses to respond to them in any way but from the point of view of the international right we should constantly remind and they prove that we tried to settle the conflict through the peaceful means many times but the country-occupant does not respond to the statements made by us. It also concerns the conscription of the citizens of Ukraine, who live on occupied territory, it concerns the change of the demographic composition of Crimea and other issues,” Hrymchak stated.
Besides, he expressed the opinion that the building of the fence at the administrative border with Crimea is rather strange decision as Crimea is a peninsula and there are many other ways to reach it.
He also reported that at the moment, Ukraine does not supply power to the annexed peninsula.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine introduced sanctions against the archaeologists who performed illegal excavations in the occupied Crimea. Vadym Chernysh, the Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced People posted this on a social network.
