Ukraine - Canada FTA ratified by Senate

The final stage before the agreement enters into its force is signing by the Canadian governor general

The Lower House of Canada supported the Free Trade Agreement with Ukraine by the majority of votes in the final third reading. Andriy Shevchenko, Ukraine's Ambassador to Canada, twitted that.

Now the Agreement shall be passed to the Senate, and then it needs to be signed by the governor general, which is the final stage before the agreement enters into its force.

The Ukraine-Canada free trade agreement was signed on July 11, during Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s visit to Kyiv. When the agreement takes effect, Canada will cancel duties for 99.9 percent of Ukrainian imports. Ukraine will do the same for most of the Canadian imports.
