Ukraine, Austria signs agreement on cooperation in education, science, culture

Ukraine and Austria signed the agreement on the cooperation in the spheres of the education, science and culture during the meeting of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Austrian Alexander Van der Bellen as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

The Ukrainian-Austrian international agreement was signed by Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine and Karin Kneissl, the Foreign Minister of Austria.

The agreement provides the opening of the affiliated branch of the Ukrainian Institute in Vienna. This institute will provide the cultural presence in the EU.

The agreement also dwells on the cooperation in the sphere of the teaching and research between the higher education institutions and other scientific establishments, students' and lecturers' exchanges.

Also, the sides will support the organization of the cultural events, tours, exhibitions, concerts, fests, theatre performances and other artistic campaigns. Also, the contacts between the museums and libraries will be encouraged.

The agreement will come into force after the ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and approval of the National Council of Austria.
