Ukraine asked Benjamin Netanyahu to become a mediator in the talks between Kyiv and Moscow. Yevhen Korniychuk, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine in Israel said so in his interview for i24NEWS TV channel.
"We already asked Israeli Prime Minister to act as mediator in this scenario because it is obvious that he has good relations with Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky. And I'm ready that the Prime Minister did not say no. He said he'd do his best (...) he showed interest and the will to help", the official said.
Recently, Ukrainian and Russian leaders exchanged offers to meet and discuss the current problems; Zelensky offered Putin to come to Donbas where there's war, and Putin, in turn, invited Zelensky to Moscow. The Ukrainian leader has not yet commented on his Russian counterpart's proposal. but his Office claimed he is going to do so.
