Ukraina, state-run printing house, presents samples of ballots to be used in presidential election

The longest ballot in the history of presidential elections in Ukraine. It is 80 cm in length and printed on the paper with watermarks and special protection ink. On Thursday, reporters came to Ukraina printing house to see the samples of ballots, which the citizens will use in the first round of election slated for March 31.

The Central Election Committee found that the overall length of all sheets of the ballots equals the distance from Kyiv to Montevideo. One ballot sheet costs 16 cents. The overall price of the order for the ballots made six million dollars.

The ballots have several protection levels. In order to print almost 30 million ballots for the first round, the enterprise works in three shifts. 90 percent of all ballots are ready for use now.

The regular presidential election in Ukraine will be taking place in two rounds, for the second time in the history of independent Ukraine. The first round will take place on March 31, while the second one is slated for late April.
