British Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough said that her country does not consider the issue of visa liberalization with Ukraine because of security. The diplomat said this in an interview with NV.
According to her, among other things, this issue is complicated by a precedent when a passport of a Ukrainian citizen was received by a hitman who shot Chechen volunteers in Donbas conflict Adam Osmayev and Amina Okueva.
"We are now waiting for a proper investigation of this fact to make sure that the process of issuing visas in Ukraine is protected and safe, because otherwise liberalization threatens already the UK and the security of its citizens," Judith Gough said.
We recall, after an unsuccessful attempt to kill Adam Osmayev and Amina Okueva in Kyiv on June 1, People's Deputy and adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Herashchenko said that the attacker had Ukrainian and foreign passport. After some time, the suspect in the attempt was arrested without the right to pledge.
