In his Thursday speech at IForum event in Kyiv, president Volodymyr Zelensky referred to Great Britain as an 'old lady'. That description did not go unnoticed by Judith Gough, the British ambassador in Ukraine.
The diplomat posted a picture on her Twitter page, wondering: 'Old lady?'
'Great Britain, the old lady, just recently lived an entire week without coal', Zelensky said in Russian, while referring to the British experience in the effective energy policy.
'It's a unique event, which took place first time since 1882. Two years before that, they conducted an experiment and lived without coal for 24 hours. The British have clearly shown that the entire world abandons the use of coal', BBC Ukraine quoted the president.
In her tweet, Ambassador Gough also added that Great Britain actually spent an entire week without using coal to produce energy, saying it was nice of the President to pay attention to that.
