Maryna Soroka, the press secretary of Yulia Tymoshenko, MP, leader of the Batkivshchyna party confirmed the information about the politician's infection with the Covid-19 coronavirus. She wrote about this on her Facebook.
"Yes, unfortunately this is true. The test showed that Yulia Volodymyrivna has Covid-19. The condition is assessed as serious. The temperature is up to 39. We're struggling!", she wrote.
Earlier today, RBC-Ukraine wrote that Tymoshenko had contracted the coronavirus. Also, this information was confirmed by ex-MP Ihor Mosiychuk on Facebook.
It was reported that her daughter Yevgenia and her husband Artur Chechotkin fell ill with coronavirus, too.
As we reported before, In Ukraine, as of the morning of August 23, the number of people infected with the Covid-19 coronavirus increased to 104 958 (+1,987 per day).
In total, 2,271 people (+27) died in the country as a result of complications caused by the disease, 52,235 (+500) patients have already recovered - a repeated laboratory test did not reveal a virus in their bodies.
