Yuliya Tymoshenko, the Leader of Batkivshchyna (a political party in Ukraine. – ed.) and the MP, intends to participate in next presidential elections, as she stated during a video-conference on Facebook, 112.ua reports.
“I will run for the presidency in Ukraine. But I will do that only to play in this authoritarianism, the monopoly of power one again. You see, the president’s post and elections, in general, is not a PlayStation for me. It is a real change the country expects for,” Tymoshenko said.
She also added that if she wins, she intends to immediately conduct a referendum and adopt a new Constitution.
Tymoshenko has run for the presidency twice, both of the times she was the second. In 2010 she conceded Yanukovych, in 2014 – Poroshenko.
It should be noted that earlier, Valentyn Nalyvayko, former SBU Head, Roman Bezsmertnyi, former representative of Ukraine to the Trilateral Contact Group, and Anatoliy Hrytsenko, the Leader of Civil Position party, announced about their intentions to run for the presidency.
The acting President has not officially announced his intentions to run for presidency. Yet, he stated that he would not participate in the parliamentary elections.
It should be mentioned that the presidential elections in Ukraine will take place in spring of 2019.
