The head of the parliamentary faction ‘Fatherland’ (Batkivshchina) and the leader of the same political party, Yulia Tymoshenko received almost $5,563 000 compensation for ‘political repressions’ in 2011-2014. She indicated such changes in her material condition in the income statement.
"Compensation for damage, caused by political repression in 2011-2014, received in the US at the stage of pre-trial settlement," in this wording, the source of income in the amount of $5,563 000.
It is indicated that she received the money from the American law firm Reid, Collins, Tsai LLP. The media reported that earlier a close associate of Tymoshenko Serhiy Vlasenko also received funds from this company.
It is known that the company Reid, Collins, Tsai LLP was founded in the USA in 2009; it conducted a number of high-profile lawsuits, in particular among the company's customers, the American singer Shakira.
As we reported before, Yulia Tymoshenko, the head of Batkivshchyna faction in the Ukrainian Parliament, reacted to the offensive statement by President Zolodymyr Zelensky. Previously, the country's leader chose to mock the politician from the opposition camp, when he said that Tymoshenko offered her candidacies to be appointed for high governmental offices - in exchange for support for Servant of the People party in the Parliament.
