The investigation team of the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) suspect two ex-Berkut fighters of violating the rights of Euromaidan protesters in January-February 2014. The DBR press office reported that on June 10.
The men served with the Central Department of Ukraine's Interior Ministry in Dnipropetrovsk region.
The Bureau and Prosecutor's Office suspect that the ex-riot police members illegally prevented organization of rallies and meetings in the downtown Kyiv in early 2014. Besides, they are suspected of faking the information about the detaiend activists who allegedly participated in the mass riots at Hrushevskoho street in Kyiv on January 22, 2014. That resulted in a suspicion notice for the detained activist, and he was arrested for an especially tough crime that he never committed.
The group of Ukrainian MPs sent the Constitution Court of Ukraine an appeal, asking to cancel the amnesty of those who were involved in the mass protests at the Independence Square in early 2014.
