Twitter, one of the world's biggest social networks, has verified the account of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in the annexed Crimea. A tick confirming the status of the official account appeared on the office's Twitter page.

The description of the account states that the page is "the official Twitter account of the representative office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Simferopol."

"In addition 2 our previous calls we reiterate that it is absolutely unacceptable to give so called ????????MFA in ????????#Crimea a verified check mark while the Int’l community incl. the majority of UN member-states clearly say #CrimeaIsUkraine. @Twitter must block that account immediately!" reads the message.

As we reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of February 1, 2021 "On sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against the Republic of Nicaragua".
