President of Turkey Recep Tayip Erdogan confirmed that his country does not recognize the Russian annexation of Crimea. He said so during the general debates of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
"We consider it crucial to keep the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, including the territory of Crimea, the annexation of which we don't recognize", the Turkish leader said as quoted by TASS.
Besides, he insisted on the necessity to put in more efforts in terms of protection of rights of Crimean Tatars.
Earlier, Turkey refused to recognize the results of the election organized by Russian occupant authorities in the Ukrainian Crimea.
In June, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu claimed that Ankara is going to keep supporting Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
