Former US presidential campaign adviser Michael Caputo denied allegations that the advisors of the current president could collude with representatives of the Russian Federation during the election campaign. This is reported by the CNN channel.
"I have not heard anything like this," the ex-advisor said on Friday in an interview, answering the question whether he is aware that some member of Trump's campaign staff has ever discussed assistance from Russia.
According to Caputo, staff members worked day and night and were "so busy" that they simply did not have time to coordinate their actions with representatives of any foreign government. "The very idea that someone in the campaign could have a malicious intent and commit treason or had the resources to do it, is simply ridiculous," he said.
Earlier we reported that Russian lawyer Natalya Veselnitskaya stated that Russian government played no part in her meeting with Donald Trump in 2016.
