The intention of the United States President-elect Donald Trump to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a provocation, and this action will have the most negative consequences. Such an opinion was expressed by the Foreign Minister of France, Jean-Marc Ayrault, speaking on the TV channel France-3, reports Reuters.
"This is a provocation, of course. I think that it will have extremely serious consequences", said the French minister.
As he added, in the United States, "this issue is not for the first time on the agenda."
"However, still no US president, despite claims that could be made in one time or another, has not allowed himself to go so far as to make this decision", he said.
US President, believes the head of the French Foreign Ministry, should seek a compromise in this matter and not take hasty decisions.
Earlier two high-ranking representatives of the team of US president-elect Donald Trump on anonymity conditions denied the information that he intends to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin a week after the inauguration.
