Advisor to the US President for National Security Herbert McMaster there are signs of "Russian intervention" in the upcoming presidential elections in Mexico. This is reported by The Hill.

According to McMaster, the US is concerned that Russia "uses intricate campaigns on subversive activities, misinformation, and propaganda, using cyber instruments for this."

The adviser also noted that the referendum on the independence of Catalonia was also subject to "intervention" of Russia.

Earlier, CIA head Mike Pompeo said that Russia will try to intervene in the elections to the US Congress, which will be held in 2018.

According to him, the next time meddling in the U.S. affairs is expected during the election to the Congress, where Republicans will be trying to keep their majority. Pompeo also noted that it’s not only Russia who’s trying to undermine the American elections.
