The government of president Donald Trump decisively stands against the construction of Nord Stream II. Rick Perry, the U.S. Secretary of Energy said that during the inaugural ministerial meeting of the Transatlantic Partnership for Energy Cooperation.

'The construction of Nord Stream II will not be facilitating diversification of energy supply routes to Europe, instead concentrating two-thirds of the Russian supplies of gas to the EU. It will make Europe much more vulnerable', Perry said.

The American official put the construction of Nord Stream II and Turkish Stream in the same row with cyberattacks and misinformation campaigns, saying this is not how a responsible nation would act.

Perry added that the U.S. supports the efforts of European countries to minimize their dependence from one supplier of energy carriers.
