U.S. President Donald Trump wanted to conceal the results of his first positive test for coronavirus, expecting results of the second - which also proved positive. The Wall Street Journal reported that, citing sources.
According to interlocutors of the outlet, the express test that Trump had on Thursday appeared positive for Covid-19. While waiting for the secpnd one, which was supposed to be more thorough, he gave interview to Fox News, claiming his assistant Hope Hicks was diagnosed with the disease. At that moment, he did not specify he had Covid-19, too.
However, hours after that, the U.S. leader confirmed that he and his wife Melania got sick. According to a source, Trump also asked one of his counselors not to make the test result public.
"Don't tell anyone", the outlet quoted Trump.
Medics hold daily press briefings to inform the society about his health conditions. Trump himself is currently getting treated at Walter Reed military hospital in Maryland; he said he felt fine, willing to get back to work as soon as possible.
