President of U.S. Donald Trump proclaimed the victory over the terroristic organization “Islamic State” in Syria on Twitter.

"We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency,” he wrote.

U.S. Department of Defense plans “complete” and “rapid” withdrawal of the American troops from Syria as CNN reported citing the department. 

There are about 2.000 American soldiers in the country, where they prepare the local forces for the fight against ISIS. The Syrian Democratic Forces supported by the U.S. and headed by Kurds reached some recent success in the fights against terroristic group and stand on the very threshold of the seizure of the city retained by ISIS to the east of Euphrates.

Earlier the US State Department announced that Russia and Syria had falsely accused Syrian militants of shelling Aleppo on November 24.

On November 24, the Syrian city of Aleppo was fired with shells filled with poisonous gas, as a result of which 107 civilians were injured. Official Syrian authorities, loyal to President Bashar al-Assad, reported that Aleppo was shelled from 120-millimeter mortars.
