Donald Trump has already said goodbye to the White House only hours before Joe Biden is officially inaugurated as the new U.S. President, Reuters reports.

Trump and his wife, Melania, are expected to depart for Joint Base Andrews in suburban Maryland. After that, he will fly to Florida.

He will not visit the formal transfer of power, which is scheduled to take place later this day.

Despite leaving the White House, the Senate is still to hold a trial on the impeachment charge against him. This, in turn, can result in a ban for running again for president.

As we reported earlier, Biden intends to fulfill "roughly a dozen promises" on his inauguration day.

According to Biden's new chief of staff, Ron Klain, US President-elect promises to use the powers of his new office to push policy changes on housing, student loans, climate change, and immigration.

It is reported that most of the measures are a reversal of policies Trump pursued during the end of his presidency and do not require congressional action.
