U.S. President Donald Trump may invite Russia's President Vladimir Putin to the next G7 Summit in 2020, which will take place in the USA. This was reported by Bloomberg.

Trump stated it was “certainly possible” he would invite Putin setting up a flashpoint with fellow nations who ejected the Russian leader over annexation of Crimea.

The next meeting will take place in the USA, and as a host of the meeting, Donald Trump is able to invite other state leaders as guests as he wishes.

However, the President cannot invite Putin as the participant of the summit.

“It’s certainly possible, we’ll see,” Trump said, after earlier noting that he and other G7 leaders had discussed the matter Saturday evening. "We had a very good discussion on Russia and President Putin, and a lively discussion, but, really, a good one," Trump said.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly upheld the return of Russia to the G7 line-up

"I think it's much more appropriate to have Russia in", he said.
