Donald Trump, Jr. released some of digital correspondence, which implies that Russians passed him certain discreditable information about Hillary Clinton. The correspondence is released on his Twitter page.
According to the correspondence, British reporter Rob Goldstone told Trump, Jr. that there’s certain embarrassing information about Clinton’s relations with Russia. In one of its articles, BBC explained that Goldstone manages Russian pop star Emin Agalarov, whose father, Aras, is a Moscow-based real estate developer who was Trump, Jr.'s business partner in taking the Miss Universe competition to Moscow in 2013.
‘Mr Goldstone arranged a meeting between Donald Trump Jr and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya on 9 June 2016, two weeks after Mr Trump had secured the Republican nomination. Ms Veselnitskaya had promised damaging information on his father's Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton. But that, according to Mr Trump Jr, did not materialise. The offer by Ms Veselnitskaya was part of a Russian government effort to help his father's election campaign, and that information was sent in an email by Mr Goldstone to Mr Trump Jr,’ reads the BBC story.
‘This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump – helped along by Aras and Emin,’ reads Goldstone’s message as posted by Trump, Jr. on Twitter.
