U.S. President Donald Trump fired Kirstjen Nielsen, the Secretary of Homeland Security, as he reported on Twitter.

Then, Trump reported that Kevin McAleenan, the current U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, will become Acting Secretary.

“I have confidence that Kevin will do a great job!” Trump wrote.

The Senate approved Nielsen as the U.S. Secretary of Homeland on December 5, 2017.
