U.S. President Donald Trump fired his National Security Advisor John Bolton. The U.S. leader left the respective post on Twitter.
"I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week", reads the post.
Bolton served as the U.S. Presidential National Security Advisor since April 2018.
Earlier US President Donald Trump called the exchange of prisoners between the Russian Federation and Ukraine the good news and stated that this is a step towards peace, and his security adviser John Bolton considers this a serious event. Bolton also stressed that the United States continues to support the people of Ukraine.
