Acting US Attorney General Sally Yates has been fired. US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Dana Boente has been appointed instead of her. A Spokesman for the White House Sean Spicer wrote about this on Twitter.

In a statement, the White House said that Sally Yates "betrayed state department with letter instructing officials not to enforce president’s executive order."

On January 31 Sally Yates said that the Justice Department will not protect the migration decree of President Donald Trump in court.

Sally Yates, appointed to her post by the Trump predecessor Barack Obama, noted that she is "not convinced of the legality of the President's decree."

"The Ministry of Justice will not present arguments in defense of the President orders", she said.
