U.S. leader Donald Trump expects the Russian government to ease tensions in Ukraine and return the annexed Crimea to Ukraine. Sean Spicer, the press secretary of the White House, said this as quoted by Reuters.

‘President Trump has clearly showed that he’d expected the Russian government to calm down the violence in Ukraine and return Crimea,’ he said.

The official added that Trump wants to be able to come to terms with Russia – unlike the previous U.S. administration.

Previously, the White House confirmed that the U.S. sanctions against Russia due to the occupation of Crimea.
