President of the United States Donald Trump, during talks with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, managed to convince his Chinese counterpart in the unattractiveness of its cooperation with North Korea. This was stated on Fox News television channel by deputy adviser to the American leader for national security Kathleen McFarland.
"President Trump was able to convince the President of China that North Korea is no longer an asset, North Korea is a hindrance, a burden to everyone and a threat not only to the United States, not only to South Korea, not only to Japan, not only to Russia, but also to China, "she said, commenting on the April 6-7 meeting of the two leaders at the Trump estate in Florida.
The deputy assistant to the American president noted that the US intends to give time to China to try and convince Pyongyang of the need to curtail the nuclear program. She also stressed that for these purposes, Washington and its allies will continue to use economic and diplomatic pressure on the DPRK.
Earlier US Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday, April 16, being in South Korea with a working visit, called the test missile launch on the east coast of North Korea a provocation from the side of DPRK.
